Ramona Ranch Winery is the only San Diego winery so far to achieve the California Sustainable Winegrowing certification. Going beyond sustainability, Teri Kerns and Micole Moore cultivate a wide array of fruit trees and native plants that attract and support birds, insects and wildlife. The National Wildlife Federation recognized the farm as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. Grapes were first planted on the estate in 2006, the same year the Ramona Valley became an AVA. The winery currently produces around 1000 cases annually. Any purchased fruit comes from neighboring farms in Ramona that utilize sustainable practices.
